PA EAST WEEK 7 FEATURED GAME PREVIEW
BATTLE OF THE UNBEATENS: TWIN VALLEY AND SOLANCO COLLIDE IN MASSIVE DISTRICT 3 5A SHOWDOWN
Friday, October 9, 2026 • 7:00 PM • Solanco High School • Quarryville, PA
Week 7 of Eastern Pennsylvania high school football is almost here, and an absolutely massive showdown is taking place in Quarryville this Friday night.
The undefeated Twin Valley Raiders (6-0) travel to take on the undefeated Solanco Golden Mules (6-0) in a battle between the top two teams in District 3 Class 5A.
Both teams have been dominant through the first six games of the season, but something has to give Friday night. Only one will leave Quarryville with its perfect record intact.
With the top spot in District 3 5A on the line, this has all the makings of an incredible football game.
TWIN VALLEY RAIDERS (6-0)
Twin Valley enters Friday night's showdown with a perfect 6-0 record. The Raiders have been absolutely cooking this season, but they'll face what could be their toughest test yet against a very talented Solanco team.
A huge reason for the Raiders' success has been senior Lucas Myers (#2, RB/OLB).
Myers has been outstanding on both sides of the football. He's a physical, downhill runner who is extremely difficult to bring down. His vision, toughness, and ability to break tackles make him a dangerous weapon in the backfield.
Defensively, he's just as impressive. Myers consistently stuffs the run, puts pressure on opposing quarterbacks, and always seems to be around the football making plays. He's also capable of providing solid coverage when needed.
This dude can flat-out play.
Another player who has been absolutely dominant is senior Grant Moser (#1, SS/SB).
Moser is a nightmare for opposing offenses. He's an extremely physical tackler, excellent in coverage, and has a tremendous ability to read plays as they develop.
He also brings an explosive element to Twin Valley's offense. When Moser gets the football in space, there's a good chance something big is about to happen.
Watch out for Moser on Friday night.
Senior Andrew Cabigas (#6, TE/DE) is another player Solanco will need to account for.
Cabigas is an absolute bulldozer at tight end. He's a dominant blocker who uses his physicality to overpower defenders at the line of scrimmage. He's also a reliable pass catcher who can make important plays when called upon.
On defense, Cabigas is equally impressive. He sets the edge exceptionally well, disrupts the running game, and consistently finds his way into the opposing backfield.
Cabigas can do it all.
Other Twin Valley Players to Watch
Senior Jaycee Oliver (#88, TE/MLB) is another talented tight end for the Raiders. Oliver is a reliable receiving option who can make big plays in the passing game when his team needs him.
Twin Valley's offensive line deserves plenty of recognition as well.
Liam Sheehan, Joey Buckley, Gavin Tilling, Gavin Ketner, and Colt Suloman have been absolutely dominant this season. Their combination of size, experience, and physicality makes them one of the most impressive offensive fronts in Eastern Pennsylvania.
They'll face a tremendous challenge against Solanco's physical defense, and their performance could be one of the biggest deciding factors in this matchup.
Sophmore Gavan Foster (#13, QB/FS) has also been a major contributor to the Raiders' success. Foster makes smart decisions with the football, delivers accurate passes, and has the mobility to extend plays or pick up yards with his legs when necessary.
And don't forget about junior Maverik Foster (#4, RB/FS), who has been on fire recently.
Foster is coming off an incredible four-touchdown performance in his previous game against Fleetwood. He'll look to carry that momentum into Friday night's showdown.
Twin Valley's Key to Victory: Shut Down Solanco's Rushing Attack
This is going to be an enormous challenge.
Solanco's offense is built around its ability to dominate on the ground. The Golden Mules have several dangerous rushing threats, and when they establish their running game, they're extremely difficult to stop.
Twin Valley must control the line of scrimmage, limit explosive runs, and force Solanco into uncomfortable passing situations.
If the Raiders can contain the Golden Mules' rushing attack, they'll put themselves in an excellent position to leave Quarryville undefeated.
SOLANCO GOLDEN MULES (6-0)
The Golden Mules are looking golden right now.
Solanco enters Friday night's showdown with a perfect 6-0 record and one of the most explosive rushing attacks in Eastern Pennsylvania.
However, just like Twin Valley, the Golden Mules will be facing what could be their toughest challenge of the season.
One of the biggest reasons for Solanco's phenomenal start has been junior Wesley Bard (#40, RB/MLB).
Bard has been absolutely ridiculous this season.
Through six games, he's already surpassed 1,000 rushing yards on just 49 carries, with 15 rushing touchdowns. He's averaging an incredible 21.1 yards per carry and 172.7 rushing yards per game.
Bard has been tearing apart opposing defenses with his explosiveness, physicality, and ability to turn almost any carry into a huge gain.
And he's also an outstanding linebacker.
Bard plays with tremendous aggression and intensity, consistently flying to the football and making plays. He has already recorded 54 total tackles this season.
Look for Bard to be one of the biggest difference-makers on Friday night.
Then there's junior Tristan Brown (#18, K/P/SS/SB).
Brown is unlike almost any player I've watched.
He's an elite kicker and punter who also contributes on both offense and defense. His versatility makes him one of the most unique players in Eastern Pennsylvania.
Offensively, Brown is a speedy, explosive playmaker who can turn limited touches into big gains.
Defensively, he's a physical tackler who reads plays extremely well, provides solid coverage, and consistently makes his presence felt around the football.
Whether it's offense, defense, or special teams, Brown can impact the game in multiple ways.
This kid is special.
Senior Noah Gote (#64, G/DT) is another player to keep an eye on.
Gote has been an absolute force on Solanco's defensive line this season, recording 50 total tackles and 10 tackles for loss.
He's a physical, aggressive defender who constantly finds himself around the football and in opposing backfields.
Gote also plays a major role on the Golden Mules' offensive line, bringing toughness and physicality to their dominant rushing attack.
Watch out for Gote in the trenches Friday night.
Other Solanco Players to Watch
Senior Kali Hines (#2, RB/LB) brings tremendous intensity to the Golden Mules' defense. He's a physical, hard-nosed linebacker who attacks the football and isn't afraid to deliver a big hit. He also contributes to Solanco's rushing attack.
Senior Chase Sensenig (#14, QB) is another dangerous weapon for Solanco.
Sensenig is an excellent runner who adds another dimension to the Golden Mules' ground game. When Solanco does take to the air, he's capable of delivering accurate throws and keeping defenses honest.
Sophmore Trevor Prang (#9, RB) is another player who can make a major impact.
Prang is averaging an impressive 11.6 yards per carry and gives Solanco yet another dangerous option in the backfield. He also contributes defensively with his coverage ability and willingness to come up and make tackles.
Senior Kannon Lilly (#74) has been outstanding defensively this season, recording 41 total tackles and three tackles for loss.
Lilly is another physical presence who will be looking to make his mark against Twin Valley.
Solanco's Key to Victory: Establish the Running Game
Solanco has one of the highest-scoring offenses in Eastern Pennsylvania, and its success starts with the ground game.
With Bard, Brown, Sensenig, Prang, and several other talented playmakers, the Golden Mules have numerous ways to attack opposing defenses.
But against a Twin Valley defense this talented, nothing will come easily.
Solanco needs to establish its rushing attack early, control the line of scrimmage, and sustain long offensive drives.
Avoiding three-and-outs will be crucial.
If the Golden Mules can consistently move the football on the ground and control the tempo, they'll have an excellent opportunity to protect their home field and remain undefeated.
PA EAST PREDICTION
Twin Valley 24 — Solanco 27
Man, this was an incredibly difficult game to pick.
These two teams are about as evenly matched as you can possibly get.
Both are undefeated. Both have outstanding defenses. Both play physical football, and both have explosive offensive weapons capable of taking over a game.
I could genuinely see this one going either way.
But I'm giving Solanco the slight edge.
The Golden Mules are playing on their home turf, and their rushing attack has been nearly unstoppable this season. I think their ability to control the clock and make explosive plays on the ground will ultimately be the difference.
That being said, Twin Valley is absolutely capable of marching into Quarryville and walking away with a huge victory.
The Raiders have the talent, physicality, and experience to match Solanco in every phase of the game.
My prediction: Solanco wins an absolute thriller, 27-24.
Either way, we're in for one heck of a football game Friday night.
Two undefeated teams. The top two teams in District 3 Class 5A. One massive showdown.
I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS ONE!
WE COVER. WE TELL. WE ARE. PA EAST.
