TWIN VALLEY MAKES A STATEMENT: RAIDERS TAKE DOWN UNBEATEN SOLANCO 34–17 IN DISTRICT 3 SHOWDOWN

QUARRYVILLE, PA — Twin Valley rolled into Solanco on Friday night undefeated, and the Raiders left the exact same way.
In one of the most entertaining, hard-fought matchups across Eastern Pennsylvania this season, Twin Valley overcame two early interceptions, capitalized on crucial Solanco mistakes, and delivered when it mattered most to secure a 34–17 victory over the previously unbeaten Mules.
The win moves Twin Valley to 7–0, while Solanco falls to 6–1.
Both teams showed why they belong among District 3's top Class 5A contenders. And after Friday night's battle, don't be surprised if these two programs cross paths again when November arrives.
FIRST QUARTER: TURNOVERS, MISSED OPPORTUNITIES, AND AN EARLY SOLANCO LEAD
Twin Valley received the opening kickoff, but disaster struck immediately.
On the Raiders' very first offensive play, Solanco's Jackson Eckardt intercepted quarterback Gavan Foster, giving the Mules all the momentum to begin the game.
Solanco took advantage of the excellent field position and marched all the way to Twin Valley's 1-yard line.
But just when the Mules appeared ready to strike, disaster hit.
Solanco fumbled at the goal line, and Twin Valley recovered the football in its own end zone, resulting in a touchback and giving the Raiders possession at their own 20-yard line.
It was a massive missed opportunity for Solanco.
Unfortunately for Twin Valley, its next possession wouldn't go much better.
A few plays into the drive, Eckardt intercepted Foster AGAIN, recording his second interception on Twin Valley's first two possessions.
This time, Solanco made the takeaway count.
Running back Wesley Bard powered into the end zone from five yards out, giving the Mules an early 7–0 advantage.
But Twin Valley responded quickly.
Wide receiver Grant Moser took a screen pass 20 yards, weaving through defenders and moving the Raiders deep into Solanco territory.
A few plays later, Twin Valley was knocking on the door.
Senior running back Lucas Myers finished the drive with a physical five-yard touchdown run, tying the game at 7–7 with 57 seconds remaining in the first quarter.
On the ensuing kickoff, Bard appeared to deliver an immediate response, returning the ball all the way for a touchdown.
However, a holding penalty wiped away the score.
It was a crushing moment for the Mules and another sign of the wild momentum swings that would define this matchup.
SECOND QUARTER: A GAME-CHANGING SCOOP-AND-SCORE
Solanco continued moving the football and eventually drove inside Twin Valley's 10-yard line.
Then came one of the biggest plays of the night.
A mishandled snap left the football loose on the turf, and Twin Valley senior Alain Bazile was there to capitalize.
Bazile scooped up the fumble and raced 85 yards for a defensive touchdown, giving the Raiders a 14–7 lead with approximately eight minutes remaining in the first half.
It was an enormous momentum-changing play.
Instead of Solanco potentially reclaiming the lead, Twin Valley had suddenly gone ahead by seven.
The Mules refused to back down.
On their next possession, Bard caught a screen pass and exploded for 40 yards, moving Solanco back into Raider territory.
The Mules eventually faced a crucial third down inside Twin Valley's 20-yard line, but quarterback Chase Sensenig couldn't connect with Eckardt.
Solanco settled for three points.
Standout kicker Tristan Brown drilled a 27-yard field goal, cutting the deficit to 14–10 with approximately two minutes remaining before halftime.
At that point, Solanco desperately needed a defensive stop.
They didn't get one.
Twin Valley junior running back Maverik Foster took over on the Raiders' next possession.
Foster opened with an 11-yard run before breaking loose for a massive 45-yard gain, putting Twin Valley right back near the red zone.
From there, Myers took care of business.
The senior punched the football into the end zone from two yards out for his second touchdown of the night.
HALFTIME: TWIN VALLEY 21, SOLANCO 10
Despite the early interceptions and multiple momentum swings, Twin Valley carried an 11-point advantage into the locker room.
THIRD QUARTER: SOLANCO STORMS BACK, BUT ANOTHER TURNOVER CHANGES EVERYTHING
Solanco received the second-half kickoff looking to claw its way back into the game.
The Mules appeared to face a third-and-long situation before a costly Twin Valley penalty changed everything.
A late hit on Bard out of bounds resulted in a 15-yard penalty, moving Solanco past midfield and breathing new life into the drive.
The Mules wasted little time taking advantage.
Senior running back Kali Hines exploded for a 25-yard run, carrying Solanco inside Twin Valley's 10-yard line.
Sensenig finished the drive with a quarterback sneak into the end zone.
Just like that, the Mules had cut the Raiders' lead to 21–17.
And Solanco wasn't finished.
On the ensuing kickoff, the Mules caught Twin Valley completely off guard with an onside kick.
Bard flew toward the loose football and recovered it, giving Solanco possession just past midfield.
Within minutes of the second half beginning, the Mules had completely flipped the momentum.
Bard continued his outstanding performance with another explosive 25-yard run, moving Solanco right back into the red zone.
The Mules were threatening to take the lead.
Then disaster struck again.
Sensenig's pass was deflected near the goal line and fell into the hands of Twin Valley senior Jayce Oliver.
Oliver secured the interception and returned the football to approximately the Raiders' 18-yard line.
It was a devastating turnover for Solanco and another enormous defensive play for Twin Valley.
To the Mules' credit, their defense responded.
Solanco forced a three-and-out, giving its offense another opportunity with the deficit still just four points.
But the offense couldn't capitalize.
Three plays later, the Mules were forced to punt, handing possession back to Twin Valley.
The Raiders had survived Solanco's biggest surge of the night.
FOURTH QUARTER: MYERS DELIVERS, FOSTER PUTS THE GAME AWAY
With the game still hanging in the balance, Twin Valley began marching into Solanco territory.
Eventually, the Raiders faced a massive fourth-down situation.
A failed conversion would have given the Mules another opportunity to take control.
Instead, Gavan Foster delivered.
The quarterback connected with Jayce Oliver on a 20-yard screen pass, picking up a crucial fourth-down conversion and extending the drive.
It was one of the biggest offensive plays of the night.
A few plays later, Myers finished the job.
The senior powered into the end zone from 10 yards out for his THIRD rushing touchdown of the game.
Twin Valley had extended its lead to 27–17 with 8:30 remaining.
Solanco desperately needed an answer, but the Mules couldn't get anything going offensively.
And with approximately four minutes remaining, Maverik Foster delivered the knockout punch.
The junior broke loose for a 40-yard touchdown run, sealing the victory and ending any hopes of a Solanco comeback.
FINAL: TWIN VALLEY 34, SOLANCO 17
The Raiders had passed another major test.
They walked into one of the toughest environments on their schedule, weathered several momentum swings, and emerged undefeated.
PA EAST TAKEAWAYS: TWIN VALLEY (7–0)
Twin Valley walked into Solanco's house undefeated and walked right back out undefeated.
This is a VERY good football team.
The Raiders are fast, aggressive, big, and extremely physical. Their offensive line is tremendous, their backfield is loaded with playmakers, and their defense consistently makes plays when the team needs them most.
What stood out Friday night was their ability to overcome adversity.
Two interceptions on their first two possessions could have completely derailed their night.
Instead, the Raiders stayed composed, capitalized on Solanco's mistakes, and made winning plays in the biggest moments.
After this performance, Twin Valley has firmly established itself as a frontrunner for the District 3 Class 5A championship.
Lucas Myers | Senior | RB/OLB
PA EAST WEEK 7 PLAYER OF THE GAME
What a performance from Lucas Myers.
The senior running back delivered three rushing touchdowns and consistently made clutch plays when Twin Valley needed him most.
Myers is a physical, downhill runner who is extremely difficult to bring down. He runs with toughness, determination, and an aggressive mentality that sets the tone for the Raiders' offense.
But his impact goes far beyond carrying the football.
Defensively, Myers was a constant presence, making important plays and forcing Solanco to account for him throughout the night.
The Mules frequently appeared to direct their running game away from his side of the field.
Myers is the type of player who can change a game on either side of the football.
Outstanding performance from the senior.
Maverik Foster | Junior | RB/FS
Maverik Foster was absolutely everywhere Friday night.
The junior contributed heavily on both sides of the football and provided a perfect complement to Myers in the Twin Valley backfield.
Foster is an explosive runner with excellent patience, sharp cuts, and the ability to turn a small opening into a massive gain.
His 45-yard first-half run helped set up a crucial touchdown, and his 40-yard fourth-quarter score effectively put the game away.
Defensively, Foster was just as impressive.
He consistently found himself around the football and came up with several important plays throughout the night.
Tremendous all-around performance from Foster.
Jayce Oliver | Senior | TE/MLB
Jayce Oliver stepped up BIG TIME for the Raiders.
His interception near the goal line was arguably one of the most important defensive plays of the game.
With Solanco threatening to take the lead, Oliver secured the deflected pass and prevented the Mules from completing their comeback.
But he wasn't finished.
Later in the game, Oliver hauled in a clutch 20-yard fourth-down reception that kept Twin Valley's drive alive and eventually led to Myers' third touchdown.
Add in several strong defensive plays, and Oliver delivered one of the most impactful performances of the night.
A true difference-maker when the Raiders needed him most.
Alain Bazile | Senior | RB/DE
Alain Bazile delivered one of the defining moments of Friday night's matchup.
His 85-yard fumble recovery touchdown completely changed the complexion of the game.

Moser's versatility and physicality make him an extremely valuable piece of this Twin Valley team.
Twin Valley Offensive Line
Let's give some credit where it's due.
Twin Valley's offensive line is FULL of studs.
The Raiders O-Line is big, physical, disciplined, and extremely difficult to push around up front.
Throughout Friday night's matchup, they consistently created running lanes, controlled the line of scrimmage, and allowed Twin Valley's talented backfield to make explosive plays.
The starting offensive line featured:
- Liam Sheehan — Senior
- Joey Buckley — Senior
- Gavin Tilling — Senior
- Gavin Ketner — Senior
- Isaiah Saunders — Senior
This group showed up in a BIG way against a talented Solanco defense.
Their performance was a major reason the Raiders were able to control the game on the ground and pull away in the fourth quarter.
An impressive night from the entire unit.
PA EAST TAKEAWAYS: SOLANCO (6–1)
Solanco suffered its first loss of the season Friday night, falling to 6–1 after a hard-fought battle with Twin Valley.
But don't let the final score fool you.
This game was much closer than the 34–17 final suggests.
The Mules were within four points during the second half and had multiple opportunities to take control of the game.
Unfortunately, turnovers proved extremely costly.
Solanco committed four turnovers, including two near the goal line, and Twin Valley made them pay.
Take away those mistakes, and this could have been a completely different ballgame.
Still, there's plenty to like about this Solanco team.
The Mules are fast, physical, aggressive, and loaded with playmakers.
They proved they can compete with one of the best teams in District 3, even when things aren't going their way.
I believe Solanco is better than what they showed Friday night, and I'm sure the Mules would love another opportunity to face Twin Valley in November.
Make no mistake: This is still a team nobody will want to face when the playoffs arrive.
Wesley Bard | Junior | RB/MLB
Wesley Bard is an absolute WEAPON for the Mules.
The junior was one of the most impressive players on the field Friday night.
He runs extremely hard, has outstanding vision, and makes beautiful cuts that allow him to find openings and turn routine plays into explosive gains.
His versatility makes him especially dangerous.
Bard is a legitimate receiving threat out of the backfield, as demonstrated by his explosive 40-yard screen reception.
He also scored Solanco's first touchdown on a five-yard run and recovered the surprise onside kick that briefly shifted all the momentum back to the Mules.
Every time Bard touches the football, there's potential for something special.
This kid is the REAL DEAL, and he's only a junior.
Kali Hines | Senior | RB/OLB
Kali Hines delivered a strong performance on both sides of the football.
The senior runs with tremendous intensity and physicality, consistently fighting for extra yardage and making defenders work to bring him down.
His explosive 25-yard run during the third quarter helped set up Solanco's touchdown that cut the deficit to four points.
Defensively, Hines also made several important plays and brought great energy throughout the matchup.
He plays with toughness and a relentless mentality.
Great all-around performance from Hines.
Kannon Lily | Senior | DE
Kannon Lily put together an impressive defensive performance against one of the most physical offensive lines in District 3.
The senior defensive end consistently showed tremendous effort, physicality, and hustle.
He did a great job fighting through blocks and working his way into position to make tackles.
Facing Twin Valley's offensive line is no easy assignment, but Lily competed hard throughout the night.
His motor and aggressive playing style stood out.
A very strong performance from the senior.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Friday night's showdown had everything you could ask for in a high school football game.
Big plays. Costly turnovers. Momentum swings. Physical football. And two undefeated teams battling to prove they belonged among District 3's elite.
Twin Valley ultimately made the plays that mattered most.
The Raiders overcame early adversity, received outstanding performances from their playmakers, and took advantage of Solanco's mistakes to secure a statement victory.
At 7–0, Twin Valley looks like a legitimate District 3 Class 5A championship contender.
And despite falling to 6–1, Solanco showed enough Friday night to suggest the Mules could still make plenty of noise in the postseason.
Would anyone be surprised if these two teams met again in November?
I certainly wouldn't.
